Welcome to my "religious" blog

I don't like the word "religious" that much, that is why its in quotes. But all my life that is what people ask me, "So you are religious?" after I tell them I go to church. But being a Christian is more than just going to church and doing that "religiously" or regularly. So I don't really like the word. But I think for most people it is actually an accurate observation of who I am, in their minds.

Being a Christian, however, is about a relationship. Its about my belief in who Jesus Christ was and what he did and that I believe I have salvation by believing that he was who he claimed to be, God in the flesh. So... that is why I don't like the word "religious"... but I don't think anyone who isn't a Christian would understand me if I said, "No. I am not religious, I just happen to go to church (pretty much) every Sunday."

Below is a posting from my "regular blog"... I guess you can call it that. And I have more to discuss and thoughts to post on the subject of being a Christian and gay marriage... but didn't want my other blog to become a forum for a pro-gay vs. anti-gay debate. And I didn't want my "regular" readers to have to navigate their way around my Christian, religious, and otherwise spiritual postings if they did not desire to read them.

Although I believe in being bold about my beliefs and not hiding the fact that I am a Christian, I also am not one to force my opinions on others. Nor do I expect people to want to read about me being a Christian if they are not a Christian, or to be able to relate to that part of who I am if they are not one them self. Therefore, I have started this new blog to be able to go "wild!" And post all my thoughts freely without feeling like I am shoving religion down any body's throat.

Hope you enjoy reading my future posts about whatever happens to be on my mind in the religious realm of things. And feel free to go back and visit my regular ramblings on my other blog http://ramblingpilotwife.blogspot.com/
